what if your soul stayed in your body?!?!?!

for the people that believe in souls/spirits that keep your body animated, that leave and go to some other dimension when you die, well i have a question. what if you died and your soul didnt move on? would you be like a zombie? a soul trapped in a dead, useless body. how would that work out being a zombie?

such as, if the soul didnt leave the body once the body stops functioning. would you still be able to move around? or would your un-functioning body just lay motionless as your soul lay trapped within it, as if your soul were imprisoned in an inanimate object?

i guess it depends. if you body is unfunctioning, muscles cant move, and you cant walk around anymore. so if your soul stayed in your body after your body is not functioning anymore, you wouldnt be a zombie. but how would you prevent your soul from leaving your body? your soul leaves automatically once your body reaches death, where it (your body) is of no use anymore to connect to the physical world. for example if you get in a near-death car crash, part of your soul leaves. we can call it back though, right? so if i had some ritual i could bring back a soul that moved on to the next dimension?

im confused and i dont know what im talking about



this is all hypothetical of course, i dont believe in spirits, im not afraid of ghosts no more!!

That's basically an 'animated' version of an athiest's view I guess when you die. The thing is, how exactly can you have a 'soul'? It is massless, and 'exists' inside you...yet it's MASSLESS. We've been around for thousands of years, i'm pretty sure throughout human history we would've found out if when we died our bodies would be come lighter, but the only reason it happens now is because the body empties itself of all....waste products (sometimes) when you die, so we drop a few ounces. What determines having a soul? What's the boundary between this dimension and the next? What controls it? No, we can NEVER BE BROUGHT BACK FROM THE DEAD. It's not possible, no matter how hard you want to believe it, once you go Brain Dead, your not getting brought back. You can be 'clinically dead' for 20 or 30 minutes, but you can still be brought back because your BRAIN HASN'T DIED. Once your brain dies, any and all conciousness ends, then you find the answer.

ah, very good answer indeed. but what if your soul was like a link to another dimension, like in Felix the Movie. it would be weightless in our dimension, where we have teh weights. i can bench press 225 pounds and on the moon it would be 25 pounds or something

There's no way we could be 'linked' to another dimension, or else we would be able to connect to the next dimension in our current dimension, and don't base your theories off of movies...they're movies XD Either way, light is massless (I believe) and it still exists, since light is both a wave and a particle.

In Christianities point of view, it is impossible.

But I heard in Tibet, the Buddhism temple there has developed secrets technique that enable the Monk to meditate until they are 100++ years old. With very little or almost to none food. (somekind of Vipasanna (insight) meditation) It has a bit relation with mental and soul training.

Yea, kinda like how some Buddhist can raise their body temperature to over 100 degrees fahrenheit just by meditating (I've seen videos of it. They take cold sheets, then put them on the Buddhists monks, and after a bit, the sheets start to have steam coming off of the sheets)

i think that either we enter a different plane of existence or we stay here, hence ghosts. perhaps its like in that movie the others and we are still here yet we arent.

yeah, but if your soul stayed imprisoned in your body, that wouldnt mean you can talk. when your body dies it stops functioning, so if your soul stayed in your body it would be like being trapped in an inanimate object. but i also heard that the soul leaving your body process is a natural thing, like gravity or whatever ,so it cant be avoided, unless ur have the super powers like Fantastic Man.

Well, for all it's worth, human consciousness is massless and most certainly exists. And I agree with the brain-dead part. =P
