![]() | Ok so i was watching this video of Carlos Mencia, and i saw these totally ignorant posts about why "america sucks" And to be honest, they seemed pretty idiotic. Heres the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qrubbsdzin8&NR Since this is serious discussion section, i'd prefer people not to spam, But let me clear it up for some people before they come "l0l america sucks tho". The video was only for reference in making my post a bit shorter, and yes before any smart asses come in here, taking a comedians oppinion on world matters is pretty ignorant, but so what? Its not like this thread will cause a war. Hopefully this debate will be in point form, with goods and bads. So i'll start with some 1. "Americans are fat". Sure a majority of us are, but we also have some of the best looking people in the world, Second to South America - Brazil 2. "Americans are dumb". If by dumb you mean becoming one of the richest countries in what? 1/10th of the time it took countries like europe, then yes we are. 3. "Americans are arrogant". So what? We deserve to be, we've had bigger historical impacts on this world in 200 years then some countries have done in thousands. 4. "Americans picked bush". Yeh you got us here, cant debate this one <_< 5. "America is corrupt". Which country isnt? Only difference is theres world wide news about just our president losing 1 inch of height. So we get more attention for our problems. 6. "America sucks". America sucks so bad that people from other countries litteraly are willing to die to get in. 7. "America are "prudes" or too strict". If by strict you mean making 14 year old prostitutes, no wait, any prostitution illegal, same with drugs, Therefore making it more family oriented, then yes. But then again that comes with personnal oppinion. All i know is i dont want my son/daughter looking for disney, then running into porno and drugs or a hopeless future. 8. Americas moves are un-predictable to a certain step, but its clearly obvious USA wont take shlt from any country. Which is funny how other countries will whine about USA, when they most likely take no role in our lifes. Carlos Mencia makes a point. We all know how America has gotten to the top, we've even dealt with nazis and such. USA's moves have pretty much all made big impacts on the world. USA does what needs to be done, and more. 9. Final point - USA are crazy ass *****s who at the moment are unstoppable, simply because no country has the balls to go up to USA and say "we wont take your shlt" Im not trying to change peoples views on this, since it's most likely impossible, but i'd like to get some insights on what people think. EDIT: Im not trying to imply USA is the best country in the world or anything like that incase some of you pride-full EU's decide to come here. Last edited by Aculard; 08-14-2006 at 06:42 PM. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I have to say that I respect people beliefs on why "america sucks" but the majority of the people that I refer to as "America Bashers" are ignorant asses that only hate us because others do and that all their opinions are the same, such as: "Bush is st00p1d" or "AmerICanz r fat!!!1!" and that if they actually came here and lived here and not just judge us on the bad things we do instead of all the things that we have done to GREATLY improve the world in which we live in then they could actually be concieved as an intelligent human being and not a blind comformist hypocrite. |

| Super Moderator | As far as that expression goes, if things go right, that's how it should be. If things are going wrong, obviously there is a problem, one that should be solved if brought up in that manner. There shouldn't be a problem, but there is. And that's what should be understood, not simply what people recognize. That's a terrible misconception. But of course, I didn't come up with it, so simply "I disagree". |

He had the best campagin when he ran first 2. no one knew 9/11 was going to happen, so the outcome of his presidency was unknow (duh) 3. Iraq is in a state of militray confilct, bush started that. If some other idiot got in there the job would be changed in the middle, maybe the troops would be pulled, or maybe more would be thrown in, no one knew. Bush needs to finish it so it goes as smooth as possible (try to understand that). 4. Kerry was pro gay. Not that I have a problem with gay's, but appaerntly the rest of america did, so here we are again with bush. dont blame america, dont say "AMERICA SUCKS" its the government, and the idots who run it. America stands for freedom and justice to all and anyone, we took people in who had no homes, and lived in either war torn counties, or dying countires and moved them here so they had a chance. God forbid some1 blame the terrorist groups. |
