| Gunzfactorian Soldier | YouTube - Heinz Deli Mayo 'Mum' New link: YouTube - Heinz Deli Mayo TV Ad I think it's quite funny but apparantly some people are offended by it, I really have no idea why. Okay a man kissing a man in the contect of the advert is fine, I see nothing wrong with it. I'd have no problem showing this to advert to my younger family members or my own future kids. Although I woudn't force them to watch it, if it was on TV (something I've not watched for 3.6 years) I'd let them watch it. Sadly people have made complaints about this add saying it would confuse children and is sexual, it was shown before the watershed, 21:30. I see nothing sexual in this advert. Should it be shown after the watershed? I don't think it should, any time is fine. I know I might be wrong but I think the only men/people who'd be offended or find this advert sexual are the ones who are not exactly happy with their sexuality. The type of men who are married but sometimes see another man and get that slight twinge in their danger spot. They see this advert and get angry because they stuck or too affraid to get out of the closet. It's not even sexual, but yeah what do you think? Last edited by King Banana; 06-26-2008 at 03:55 PM. |

| Gunzfactorian Guardian | Same situation as always, either some religious freak or someone who is desperately afraid that they're gay. These kind of situations are the worst though. An OBVIOUS joke, with the most direct meaning it could possibly have is suddenly filled with "hidden innuendos" and "sexual confusion." |

| Gunzfactorian Hero | I seem to recall a certain ad played during the super bowel that offended a bunch of gays too. I think it doesn't matter though, the point is, it's funny and if you're gay or not and if you're a religious freak or not. It's a ****ing add, stop worrying about it and get on with your life. |

| Gunzfactorian Guardian | Nah, it doesn't look too explicit even for myself. Even though personally I do not really like people of a different sexuality, I think this ad is pretty fine because that level is generally acceptable amongst most people. In fact, it made me laugh ; it was pretty funny. Besides, there has to be a reason why the ad was made as such to promote that product, and I can more or less see that. Maybe the ad-maker wants to make an impression that this guy married the chef rather than a woman because of that product he used for the food which is, can be inferred from the video, delicious. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | They do place emphasis on the fact that they're a gay couple. If this was just about a man and a women you would be wondering why they even made the ad. However, I don't see anything wrong with it. As far as I know your orientation isn't influenced by the media a lot/at all. |

| The One and Only | I don't see the issue in the least. If anything, it's a good sign. People want things to just happen with a snap of their fingers. That's not how it works, and that's not how things have worked since the dawn of time. You're talking about changing a rather large, important social standard. By today's standard, the default is that you are straight until noted otherwise. Unless there is an outstanding "gay" feature about someone, or you know that they're gay, the thought would probably never enter into your mind. So the fact that they're incorperating it into humor now is fantastic. And this wasn't some majorly exaggerated deal where two guys are wearing leather and raping everything in sight. It was an ad, where, the only real exaggeration was that the "housewife"(for lack of a better term) was rather manly and commanding for someone who appears to be staying at home all day. I think the gays are just offended because the subject is being brought up in humor instead of casually or subliminally(which is their goal), but it's a step in the right direction at least, and it's much more than they used to get. In no way was it suggested that gay is wrong there. Irrationality isn't much of a topic for discussion, so I won't bother touching on those offended due to religion. |
