Gateway Drugs..

I personally do not believe in the whole entire concept of "Gateway Drugs" but it has been coming up alot recently with the increase of the users of cannabis...

So what are your thoughts about gateway drugs...?

Well, i guess that i don't have experience of them so i have no say but the idea of taking a weak drug that is nonaddictive such as cannabis and having that lead you onto hard and addictive drugs is silly...

To me this says : I can try weak flavored orange juice and suddenly i will want to try strong black current juice....? The comparison is the same, they are both juice... cannabis and cocaine are both drugs... One is weaker than the other... cannabis and cocaine are on different strengths ... but they are different types... black current and orange... cannabis and a substance you take by sniffing up your nose...

So you may say : "Yeah but once they get the buzz of the feeling of cannabis they will want to try the buzz of another stronger drug" Yeah well... They are different ... Cannabis is a drug you take to calm you down whereas cocaine is a drug that speeds up your heart rate and makes you talkative.. where is the comparison?

Who said it was non-addictive? It varies from person to person. Most people stay with cannabis and never advance to a stronger drug.

How can you compare orange juice to cannabis? The comparison does not connect at all.

What do you mean "where is the comparison"? Not only cocaine can speed up your heart rate and make you talkative, but cannabis can also. Cannabis doesn't only calm you down. Cocaine is just much stronger.

If you do experience it some time in your life, this will change your point of view in a flash.

Erm, facts say that it is non addictive but the feeling of being high is addictive ... but only in a way such as feeling happy is... are you so addicted to being happy that you feel you need to go do drugs? i think not..

Well, i feel that it is very good connection, your just looking and thinking "orange juice what a stupid and random comparison" but the concept is the same.

Uhm... I'd like to know how cannabis would ... calm you down ( surprisingly by reducing your heart rate ) but ... increase your heart rate but somehow still keeping you calm... And yeah, that is generally the only effect of cannabis its a central nervous system relaxative drug if i am correct...

Uhhh... No i think i'd rather stick to the facts than go out and test it myself... You don't have to try alcohol to know it's effects so the idea is the same with cannabis.

The idea is based more on the idea of the logistics of it. If you can decide to do one, it doesn't become an issue morally or in w/e sense defines your actions, to not try another. Regardless of the dispute over weed, they're are certainly much worse and addictive drugs that one could end up addicted to.

But drugs aren't mundane like Orange Juice, you don't get any sense of high, it's not exhilarating, I wouldn't drink Orange Juice and wonder if stronger stuff will give me a better sense of ecstasy, because as far as I know Orange Juice doesn't provide that. Cannabis I'm told does though, so it may lead to other drug usage because you DO wonder that kind of thing, and maybe Cannabis becomes too mundane for you maybe you want something stronger because you lose interest in the old stuff, you want new stuff.

If your dumb enough to be on a drug such as cocain, then you may aswell have some weed because it isn't as bad.

It's like a dare devil on a bike jumping off the hugest ramp and then if he sees a smaller ramp after doing it, he may aswell go on it.

Actually, chemically it isn't addictive, but yes if the person suffers from an ADDICTIVE PERSONALITY it is addictive.

But he would have started on a smaller jump before then escalate to a bigger jump after he has had a successful jump over the small one.

Well as a regular Cannabis smoker (for the past 8/9 months) i can say it has not lead me to any harder drugs. I do not feel the need to move onto them.

I have done cocaine ONCE (this was not due to weed though) as my friend rolled a spliff with cocaine in, so i never knew.

So no i personally do not believe it leads u to harder stuff.
