Shadow people (also known as shadow men, shadow folk, or shadow beings) are supernatural shadow-like creatures of both modern folklore and native American religious tradition. According to folklore, they appear as dark forms in the peripheries of people's vision and disintegrate, or move between walls, when noticed.

Reports of shadow people occupy a similar position in the popular consciousness to ghost sightings, but differ in that shadow people are not reported as having human features, wearing modern/period clothing, or attempting to communicate. Witnesses also do not report the same feelings of being in the presence of something that 'was once human'. Some individuals have described being menaced, chased, or in some rare instance, attacked by shadow people. There have also been reports of shadow people appearing in front of witnesses, of which they stay there or lingering for several seconds before disappearing. Witnesses report that encounters are typically accompanied by a feeling of dread.

Funny how I was just looking into that a few days ago, for the first time, and how it is also the first time I see this being discussed (well, at least one person -attempting- to discuss it) in Serious Discussions.

As for me, I don't recall seeing any, or anything like them. (other than quick things in my peripheral vision that could just have been my own hair or something) However, I do know of someone who claims to sometimes see "reaper" like figures standing near people that are about to get seriously ill or badly incapacitated through physical trauma. Maybe they are the same?
Also, Paranormal Phenomena says that more and more people are reporting them, so I'd tend to believe that they might be real, just that I'm not one of the "sensitive" ones.

Now back to over-procrastinated schoolwork. Dang.

I believe that seeing "Shadow People" is due to the fact that we see more clearly, normally, from our peripheral vision. Ex: we are on computer, It is dark and outside and from the corner of our eye we see through a window, tree branches shaking but it looks more like a dark figure darting around and then suddenly vanishing.
