First time painting on Photoshop.....

Basically, my first painting on Photoshop...



I'm not really finished (There are no details e.g. Hair, Eyes, Shirt, Lips, Nose, lol...), but I just want to know how it is so far....

Note: I'm 14... (Still in Middle School) So I don't have a lot of formal training.



Ok, three more hours later. I added some detail to the hair, eyes, nose, and mouth, and I've smoothened out the face, as well as adding some highlights. As of right now, I'm trying to do the hair.

Gotta say pretty impressive for a first try AND at your age. I will say that you now at the stage were your style is good but your detail is not all the way there. It wouldn't matter so much if it was a cartoon but sinc this is an ctual person details matters. This is really good and you can add realism by smaller brush strokes and gradually blending the colors with the eye dopper and a lower opacity.

I wont grade it as people have different grading scales, but it would definitely be well above average.

It's not the detail isn't there it's that, there aren't any =)! But thanks a lot for the tip about smaller brush strokes, although ,it's going to be semi-difficult since, at 14, your hand-eye coordination using a tablet isn't exactly good (hopefully I'll get use to it), lol. (Think of a squirrel having a seizure, that's the amount of control I have)

I will tell you this, you are bette than the VAST magority of people your age, and not only by a little, by far. So I would discourage you to think that you cannot get better at your age as you have already proved that statement wrong. Tablets are extremely difficult to get used to, so its about that fast accurate stroke instead of a slow one since the tablet surface is very smooth and slippery you want to get a nice fast stroke in before your hand slips a bit. But yea this is extremely good, Im gonna mess around with this pic on photoshop and see what I get, although it will be hard not having the original picture.

Yeah man, this is totally awesome... I remember drawing my favourite drawing that I have now at 15. xD The samus pen drawing I don't want to rain on your parade so I'll just leave this out of it for now.

Anyways man, the background... where did that come from? Did you just download a whole bunch of new brushes? Cause that looks really sweet... Good job menzes.

Screenshot of PSD file or it didn't happen, Im not saying this to be a douche Im just kind of bored of all the people that are stealing art and posting saying that they did it its just for security. Sorry If I came on wrong just trying to clean this area of all the BS that already in this forum.
