| Gunzfactorian Soldier | For those of you who dont know me [DarkRadiance] I am not a graphics guy.. heh. im a video guy, you can usually see me hanging out in the fan movies section. thats why when i made my avatar, i came here! Im not photoshop savvy.. but i would like to know what you folks think of my new avatar? I've been a GZF member for a few years now and i've never had an avatar. so now that i finally decided to get up and give it a shot, i was wondering how i did. I think it looks fine, but, then again, what do i know? :S Thanks folks! List of changes: - Fixed expression! - Made text more subtle, different font and colour! - Crushed the blacks and boosted the whites to make it less boring! - Added some dark shadowings to add to the mood! Newest Changes - Shifted head off to the right and enlarged it. - Darkened the Levels of foreground and boosted Levels of background. - Erased some additional brush lighting. - Added Letterbox look. | Gunzfactorian Patriot | Make your hair stand up,smile crookedly a bit, frown slightly, wear cool clothes, change the background to something more gothic, put on some borders, choose a more horrific text to suit the background, make your face more dramatic, wear a beanie that screams PRO (Optional).Overall,it's all good. |

| The One and Only | I know this is more of a drastic change than you might have wanted, but I personally think it would look a lot cooler if you made your head bigger and put the center of it directly on the right edge of the avatar, so that only half of your head was showing. I don't know how large you could actually make your head without covering up the image on the left, but as is it kind've looks a little cramped. Another thing that seems to be cramping it is that your text is hugging the left edge of the avatar, which as a rule of thumb is a no no. It's also against the bottom, but that's more forgivable, and may actually work to your advantage in this case since you're limited on space. Another subtlety you could work on is tying the foreground image with the background image a little better. You did well by altering the color scheme of your face, but it still looks like an image ontop of another image. One thing in particular that stands out is that your head seems very contrasted in comparison to that image in the background. I would suggest maybe pumping up the contrast on the background a tad, just enough to make it blend with your face some more. If you don't like this idea, I might also suggest muting the colors in the background image a bit to make it look more washed out like the head. Nice avatar of course, but if you need something constructive, that's what I've got. I was thinking of changing mine, but I've used this one for so long I'm not sure if I want to get rid of it or not. |
