Ugh it used to be Alcohol = 18+, Tobacco = 16+, Age of consent is still 16+ lol.

Damn laws, i don't even drink much or even smoke, but still.

Canada,

Alcohol: 18+, or 14+ if your parent/gaurdian allows you and must be accompanied by a meal

Smoke: 16+ to smoke, 18+ to buy. Makes a lot of sense right?

Consent: 14+

Yes I live in London, and I was allowed from both an off licence and a club, the age has always been 18, people I knew (who looked old enough) would be able to buy alcohol at the age of 16-17 without having ID checked

Smoking at 16 but buying at 18 does make sense, doesnt matter what age it will still do its damage, but at 18 you should be wise enough to realise that.

Wtf then, Every shop, i mean every shop (even tesco) in my town is now 21 to buy alcohol.

Even wikipedia says it's 18 for UK

If the government allows 16 year olds to smoke cigarettes, what's the point of setting the buy age at 18? Might as well put the smoke age as 18 too.

18. Smoking should be banned all together, not because it's doing damage to your own body, we obviously can't control what you do to yourself, but because of what it does to others. Why should others have to suffer just so you can smoke? I'm talking second hand here, which kills more clean people than the smokers themselves.

As for alcohol, it does damage too but not outside of drunken driving, it doesn't do AOE damage you know?

I know what you mean, I hate, i mean, HATE walking behind smokers. I have to like hold my breathe and walk faster so i'm infront of them. Luckily none of my friends at college arn't stupid enough to smoke thank god.

Alcohol is still 18+ in the UK.

i think 18(alcohol) 16(tobacco) is better, they criminalized alot of teenagers that smoked from the age of 16 and are addicted but now unable to buy cigerettes.
