We will explore all types of grenades...why they are so fabulous...and some fancy tricks you can do! (which I'm always taking more to add btw) ~+~+~+~ ~+~+~+~+~ ~+~+~+~ Content List Tossing Techniques Frag Grenades General Usage Tips Tricks Flash Bomb General Usage Tips Tricks Smoke Bomb General Usage Tips Tricks Mixing and Matching ~+~+~+~ ~+~+~+~+~ ~+~+~+~ Tossing Techniques Aerial Aerial tosses are generally used for long range or stealthy bombing. When aimed properly they won't hit any walls and will barely hit the ground, for minimal noise. There are two ways to make grenades go further than a normal throw. Forward Be moving forward when you throw the grenade. Jumping also adds more. Tumbling Tumble and release the nade aiming high... and this grenade goes shooting in a low arc. Ricochet Bouncing off of objects/walls/ceilings is an excellent toss too. Not much to explain, just by bouncing your grenades off walls, ceilings, ledges so that you can make your grenades land in tricky areas. ~Bounce~ Bouncing is when you aim low, and toss the grenade off the ground... or doing a low toss, to get a grenade to drop close to you. There are three types to bounce drops. Normal Bounce Just aim low and drop the grenade. Tumble Bounce Tumble Backwards+Drop at the same time, it will land where you started your tumble. AMAZING for camping! Reverse Bounce Aim right at your feet walking backwards, your grenade will drop behind you. Ground Grounding the nade so it drops right at your feet. I've seen people use this very well. Ground Look straight down and drop the nade. Make sure your not moving or the grenade will move with you. ~+~+~+~+~ ~+~+~+~ ~+~+~+~+~ Frag Grenades  A.K.A. Baby Exploders General This destroys the target that falls within a certain range. Please remember that you can be injured by your own Frag. grenade! GunZ The Duel: International Edition Ah yes, the 100 damage Frag Grenade. Splash damaging lil' mo' fo'. Usage So what do you use frag grenades for? "uh, to explode people, sir?" "NO!" *slaps* Every tossing technique mentioned in the above technique section... can be applied to frag grenades for effective tosses. Aerial Best use is for killing campers, and long-range stealthy bombings. Ricochet Use it when you don't want to reveal yourself, and want to get someone you know is around a corner, to back off, or reveal himself to your shotgun aimed at his face. Bouncing For short 'stay back' warnings. Good for retreating. Good for stopping people from chasing you. If your going into cover for a reload, bounce one close to where you are heading, so that they either stay back, or run into it. Grounding For corner humping. Watch around a corner, when someone is coming... Ground a grenade, and run, and hope they didn't hear it. Tips Don't hit yourself... for the love of god. Tricks This is probably the best thing to beat campers with. I consider rockets not as effective... because you have to reveal yourself and they see a trail. 'The Camper Raid' If you know someone is hiding behind a corner...reloading or healing...perform an Aerial grenade drop if you can. They produce no sound, and people rarely see them coming. If you cant perform an Aerial... do a ricochet. They're hiding behind something, so there are clearly walls around. 'The Kill Steal' Yeah that's right, spam your grenades into a fight. Not much of a trick, but it's handy! 'Under The Car' Use bouncing techniques to roll them under obstacles. 'Smokin' Them Out' Use grenades to make people come out of secluded areas. And into your guns. ~+~+~+~+~ ~+~+~+~ ~+~+~+~+~ Flash Grenade  A.K.A OMFG IM BLIND I've been defeated General Flash grenade temporarily paralyzes the view and hearing sense of the enemy. GunZ The Duel: International Edition MAIET describes it bang on the money. I prefer to refer to it as the LSD bomb... but that's just me. You'll get more tk's this way than any other method. (if there are even others) My favorite grenade. By far. Usage So the point of this type of grenade? Blind your opponents for free/easy kills. To blind yourself (hey w/e your into) To blind your team (Just because you CAN) This is probably the hardest type of grenade to use. For starters, there is a very limited range on how far you can throw them. Once you pass that limit, the flash bomb WONT go off at all. For seconds, if you start blinding your friendlies alot... your likely going to be kicked. If you blind your opponents mostly though... your team doesn't mind and 'should' hit N. For thirds, Flash Bomb's have HUGE delays on them. Meaning, after you toss them, you have to wait awhile for them to go off, but don't get me wrong, you can use this to your advantage. But on the plus side now, say you drop a FB. Your opponent looks away: FREE SHOTS (he's not looking) Your opponent looks at it: HE'S BLIND, FREE SHOTS (he's blind) Your opponent is god: YOU DIE SLOWLY AND PAINFULLY! (yeah really) So, we're down to three types of throwing techniques: Ricochet These shots are hard to explain. I use ricochet's with my FB's when I want suprise blindings. Example: I'm around the Town Blue Spawn Corner. Someone is approaching. I ricochet the FB off the wall to my left (when looking towards the tower) so that it lands in their view juuuuust as it goes off. Those shots are VERY tricky to master. But immortal if you get them. Bounce Not a very sneaky way to drop them, but often effective. ^.^ As most FB's are. ^.^ I'll share with you my secret recipe for guaranteed: opponent blindness or free shots. 1. Find a corner. *opponent approaches* 2. Use Reverse Bounce to make the FB land right behind you in the corner. 3. Block walking backwards (into the corner) *opponent is blind* 4.Shoot him in the face -or- *opponent looks away* 4.1 Shoot him in the back Ground Good around corners, although I suggest reverse bouncing. I imagine it effective though. Tips Don't blind yourself. Don't blind your teammates. Don't be afraid to tk the ones who type: "OMFG IM BLIND" When you blind them. It's their fault, not yours. Tricks I showed you two tricks in the Usage Section. It seemed the only way to show you how you should use those drops. Other tricks you ask? Let people 1v1. Just do so while dropping 12 FB's into their fight. That's all I got. >.< ~+~+~+~+~ ~+~+~+~ ~+~+~+~+~ Smoke Grenades  A.K.A. "OMFG LAAAAAG" General A smoke grenade is used to disturb the sight of the enemy and to escape from a region. However, be careful when using this as it disturbs the sight of yourself as well. 'Nuff Said. Usage IMO, Smoke grenades are only good in triplets. Three smoke grenades is the number alot of people start to lag at. Three smoke grenades is the number that creates a thick enough fog for full cover. Three smoke grenades... thats about it. All tossing techniques work well with this grenade type. PROVIDING you have the time to throw enough for cover. Aerial Use this technique to put cover into other people's fights. Also handy for putting it in areas you want to get too... but you know the enemy is waiting for you to pop out. Ricochet No difference. Use it to place them in tricky spots. Bounce For creating cover at close ranges. Ground I've used this 3-4 times... For cover when I'm healing. Sorry, there aren't many things to say about what techniques work best. I mean, they ARE just smoke grenades. Tips Triplets are best. Three is the magic number it takes to make a wall of smoke, while preserving the rest of your smokes for later use. Tricks Get a whole team to use smoke grenades. You can create a crapload of smoke cover for no apparant reason! Even ONE smoke grenade helps cover. Don't feel you have to use them all at once. Mixing And Matching Don't feel you have to use 2 sets of one grenade type. FG+FB For adaptability. SB+FB Toss a smoke, then a FB. They can't tell the difference, and often stare right at them. But that won't effect me, I guess, so nice guide. I know it's pretty selfish to say that, but I'm a selfish person. |

| Gunzfactorian Guardian  | Re: Guide To Grenading have 4 frags and 4 smokes ( or 4 frags and 4 frags whatevr) get one set down to 1 then throw it then you should switch to the other grenade and throw it almost immediatly after the first its like nade rs lol but it only works once |

I can place them so that in order to get shots at me, YOU HAVE TO BE LOOKING TOWARDS ONE. I can place them so that you look another way so I can shoot your back. | Member  | Re: Guide To Grenading I remember the first time i got hit by 2 people spamming smoke and flash bang grenades. Lucky for me i played CS and remembered if i spray randomly and jump in random directions when i cannot see i either kill someone else, live, or look like i am on LSD. (but if it works it works). I want an automatic shotgun.(to bad rs is the closest i'll ever get =( ) I also use FG's all the time. the one time I didn't have them equiped was horrible. I went to the waiting room and got them imediatly. Also, If u get good w/ nades u will learn rocket launchers suck even more because I am able to use my 4 Fg1 nades better then most rocket peoplez. Also, Great guide slap. Keep making'em. I actually have gotten better at gunz by reading ur other guides. I'm not 100% sure, but i belive i learned how to actually to the rs from one of ur posts. so Thx. When is INGunz updating??? it said like 20 some hrs or something. idk, but they said get off. so i got off.  |
