The Decent Person Chapter 4 - The End a. Bye! Chapter 1 - Introduction a. Who Are you? I’m Black Jinx. I’ve written the somewhat lengthy guide on use of dual avengers, and the very short and debatable guide to GunZ ping (since there’s so many different guides already and opinions). I’m in the clan Ninja Bees. However, that’s unimportant.. I’m here to teach you the about the social and playing categorizations of GunZ. Or reinforce what you already know. b. A Hirewhattie? For the vocabulary-challenged, a Hierarchy is simply a structure of people divided by ranking, from lowest to highest based on ability or status. Or something. I can’t explain it that well, so here’s an exact definition from Dictionary.com. A body of persons having authority. Categorization of a group of people according to ability or status. The group so categorized. A series in which each element is graded or ranked: put honesty first in her hierarchy of values. A body of clergy organized into successive ranks or grades with each level subordinate to the one above. Religious rule by a group of ranked clergy. One of the divisions of angels. So.. Should be simple enough to understand. Dictionaries explain things better than me. That’s why they exist! <_< c. Why Should I Read This? Well, there’s several reasons. One: You might really want to know about the social structure of GunZ, because you’re clueless. Two: You might know it from experience but want a bit of clarification or reinforcement. Three: You know it really well, you’re just reading this for amusement. Other: Something other. O_o Chapter 2 - The Skill Hierarchy a. The Breakdown The skill hierarchy of GunZ is very simple, and normally goes like this: Utter Newbie | Sprayer | Beginner | Intermediate | Advanced | ‘Pro’ | Pro Note: I will discuss these rankings in term of K-Style, but they can apply to any style, I believe. b. The Utter Newbie Player The Utter Newbie just got GunZ, just got an account, and is probably level one or two, spraying away with Renards. This player generally sits in one spots and aims slowly. You could walk circles around this person and they’d miss. They rarely move, and have not discovered the ‘tumble’ or ‘dash’ function yet. They normally don’t talk much, and tend to lag (though not always true). Cannot comprehend the kick function, or hacks. c. The Sprayer Player This player is a bit more advanced than The Utter Newbie Player, and knows ‘the ropes’ of basic GunZ play. He can tumble, he can shoot, and he can toss grenades. Normally, he can’t hit you if you move anywhere else besides a straight line. He also tends to have a bad habit of tumbling forward or backward in a straight line at you. Might be foreign and frequently say interesting phrases such as ‘potag’ or ‘asa’ or ‘nob’. Might lag. His swordplay is rather weak, and he frequently sticks to the turtle-massive or the 4 slash sword-combo routine. May comprehend the kick function. Will probably comprehend blatant hacks, but may continue to ignore the fanciful ‘Press Y to agree, press N to disagree’ text. d. The Beginner Player The Beginner Player is starting to understand and use the fundamentals of an advanced form of play (in this example, K-Style, but could apply to E-Style, D-Style, K-Style, or hybrid). This player messes up a lot in their butterfly or slash-shot. He tries his best, but can’t seem to get his stuff down quite right. In later levels of the Beginner Player type, this player can fluently do most of his moves, though the speed might be a bit disruptive to his aim (if he has aim in the first place), and he can still stumble every now and then. Still relatively easy to knock out by higher-ups. e. The Intermediate Player This player knows his stuff. He can slash-shoot, he can half-step, he can butterfly, he can quick slash, he might even know the pro sliding dance move. He doesn’t normally mess up any of his moves, except maybe a butterfly or two. He might be able to aim. This is the player you find most often in expert channels. f. The Advanced Player This player is what other players might address as ‘pro’ in a way of respect. These player mostly know ALL the moves, ALL the tricks, ALL the secrets. They vary in levels of skill, as it’s a broad range of skill. They can rip it up in TDM and 1v1, and can murder their own skill level and below. They normally never mess up on their own. They are the people who are ten to eighty kills ahead of the rest of the game (with Advanced Advanced Players--confusing, huh?). They can actually give ‘Pros’ some trouble. g. The ‘Pro’ Player These are the ‘Pros’. I’m talking AryaVarwin, Korean/Kraise, BeyondPower, MosNanDa, Scream (excuse me to anyone I forgot to mention, these are off the top of my head)--that crowd. The people you hear about nonstop in your pursuit for power. These are the mythical players who tend to not hang out in public, because they’re constantly harassed with the fact that they are the ’Pros’. They keep to themselves and each other, and play with their own ‘in’ crowd. Which is why we don’t see them often, the bastards. They’re supposably the best of the best, the ones who can put down Advanced players with relative ease.. Though, where are they? I feel neglected. h. The Pro Player You might be confused. What’s the difference between a ‘Pro’ and a Pro? Well. A ‘Pro’ is an ASSUMED best of the best. Because they are so mysterious and like, even though they really ARE very good in most cases, they are -not- true Pros. In fact, I’ve never seen at true pro. This is my own category, a category that none have filled, I just wish to see one do such a thing. This is sort of my spiritual GunZ section thingy. A Pro makes no mistakes. Ever. EVER. A Pro is infinitely sagely and powerful, and can do all moves with amazing ease and clarity. A Pro is a fair sport. A Pro can see through all enemies’ tactics instantly and knows the countermeasure to them. A Pro is insanely efficient and will not make a step more than is necessary to kill. A Pro can go from absolutely relaxed to prepped for battle and fighting in an instant. This is my idea of a Pro.. But I’ve never seen one. :x Do they exist? I don’t think so.. Not yet. Chapter 3 - The Social Stereotypes a. Note Note that this is probably the most biased of the whole article, and if you fall into one of these categories and you dislike it.. THAT’S YOUR PROBLEM. If you don’t want to be in one of the categories.. Get out of the category. Duh. O_o Except for the Lagger/Spiker category.. Can’t do much to get out of that. Also, these are not in any structure of better than one or the other. b. The List In no particular order, I give you, THE LIST: The Whiner The Angry One The 1337 H4xx0r The Lagger/Spiker The Idiot The Arrogant One The Foreigner The Decent Person c. The Whiner The Whiner whines a lot. He whines about dying, he whines about people using certain weapons that he somehow cannot evade, he whines about losing, he whines about not being able to get better, he whines about getting TK’d/KS’d, and he whines about any minor inconvenience, no matter how trivial. d. The Angry One This one is very angry, and will get angry at just about anything that displeases him. He’s closely related to The Whiner and distantly related to The Idiot. He will try to kick you from the room for ruining his e-life. He will probably also challenge you to a 1v1. e. The 1337 H4xx0r Two kinds of h4xx0rz: sneaky, and not-so-sneaky. Closely related to The Idiot in most cases. The not-so-sneaky h4xx0rz hand around low level channels where they can’t be kicked (see Sprayer and Utter Newbie). The sneaky h4xx0rz try to blend in with ap/hp/premium hax (*cough*Kiyuono*cough*) or name hax (*cough*Blizzera*cough*). Mostly just stupid script kiddies who somehow got their hands on a trainer. Other 1337 h4xx0rz are actually just bored and want to have some fun and will flock around random games and not cause any harm. Normally out of mutual respect, people won’t kick these people if they entertain them. f. The Lagger/Spiker They lag! Ahh! They spike! Do I need to explain this one? Normally foreigners or Dling something, or just lag from some unexplainable black magic. Spikers spike around--they’re the only GunZ players who can actually do a ‘flash step’ (Bleach version of flash step). g. The Idiot This person.. Well, they come in so many flavors, I can’t even explain it. They’re just the kind of players who are so excruciatingly stupid and hypocritical, you can’t even stand to defend yourself.. You’re just stunned. Related to The 1337 H4xx0r, sometimes The Whiner or The Angry One. Last edited by Black Jinx; 08-05-2006 at 07:53 PM. |

| Gunzfactorian | h. The Arrogant One The Arrogant One is very arrogant and can beat anyone because he is so super pro and you should lick his shoes (or toes) because he is so FPL totally yeah. He probably just sucks, though. Everybody knows one of these.. Most E/D-Stylers related this personality to K-Style, which I take offense at. After all, K-Style IS superior to E/D-Style.. SARCASM! JOKES! Don’t hit me! Closely related to The Angry One and sometimes The Idiot. i. The Foreigner Oh, the enigma! Oh, the potag! Oh, the mamuteo lvl 6! Who knows what goes on in these crazy peoples’ minds? Most tend to ignore these players, since they lag and don’t speak English. And when they do, it’s broken and incomprehensible and is normally riddled with inefficient swear words. Of course, if you’re going to learn another language… learn the swear words first. Sometimes, The Foreigner can be quite charming and friendly. Though on GunZ, this doesn’t happen often. j. The Decent Person - (Thanks to Zephyre for pointing out the fact that I missed this) IMPOSSIBLE! A Decent Person? Yes, they exist. Though, somewhat rare. Actually, it’s not really a stereotype.. I just felt that I should let you people know that they still exist. Maybe you’re one. Chapter 4 - The End a. Bye! Hope I helped you out with this article, and this might clear up some things you’re confused about. If you have any other stereotypes or suggestions I missed, feel free to toss some out there. Bye! ADDON THINGY: If you were reading as I was posting first, and having major lag troubles with GunZFactor Forums.. uh, read the stuff I updated if you want. Thanks for reading. | Gunzfactorian Bird | I found this funny. Especially reading the stereotypes of people, infact I met a funny one just several minutes ago. His name was "...Dagger" he called me a noob because I beat him, how ironic? then called me a spaceslut before I said anything. LOL then I beat him and kept saying 1v1 over and over.. And on the skill level I guess I fall into Advanced and 'Pro' I can't say i'm niether but somewhere between. |

Oh, and if you're in between Advanced and 'Pro', then you're 'Advanced Advanced', but I didn't list that 'cause that would be overkill. :O I think I'm Advanced Advanced.. not sure though. | ||
