| Gunzfactorian Commando | GunzFactor Forums 101 a)things you need to know first... b)Different sections of Gunzfactor c)Tools of the trade d)Warning/ban system e)Credits and thanks Things you need to know first >>Follow the forum rules!!http://www.gunzfactor.com/forums/main_site_articles/. Like it says, not knowing them is not an excuse. >>Heads up that the honor system isn't up at the moment and that there is no set date to when it will return. >>Listen to the mods and admins!! Being a pompous jerk to them and other members will eventually get you warnings and later on if your behaviour persists, a ban. >>advertising on GunzFactor is prohibited! If ya wanna advertise, do it on your signature. (more details on that later) Different Sections of GunzFactor forums Rules and Guidelines: For the love og all that's good and wholesome READ THE RULES!! Not knowing them will probably screw you over later on in the future. Official MAIET announcements: This is where Gunztrix and the MAIET team posts the latest news(if you don't know who they are shame on you). Only they are allowed to post but all members can reply. The Garrison: Like the little description beneath the titles says, discuss game news, events, and future happenings. Briefing Room:: If you've got a question about something in-game, this is the place to get it answered. Don't confuse this section with "Tech Help". Bounty Stockpile: This section is to write guides (like this one!) and FAQs or collect some information about whatever. Chances are that if you're looking for something, ie a guide to revolvers, more or less you'll find it here. Tech Help: Have you got trouble running the game, too much lag or agent errors? Or maybe you can't upload your newest GzF signature? This is the place to go. Challenges and Duels: This is where to go to issue a challenge. Clan or single, whatever! If you've been dying to pick a bone with someone post it in this section! Call to arms: A clan looking for members and members looking for clans, this is where to go! >=D Ladder: all you need to know about ladders can be found right here http://www.gunzfactor.com/forums/showthread.php?t=106 Tournaments: no tournaments underway, no need to describe. Movies: Got a fan-made movie you want to share with the rest of the community? Or maybe you want to take a look at the work of others. Either way, sit back and relax. Note: do not confuse this with the replay section. Fan-art: Personally, my favorite part of the forums. This is where you post Gunz fan-art, anything non-Gunz related art should be posted in the off-topic section of GunzFactor. Signature and avatars should be posted in the Graphics workshop. Fanfiction: A story to tell, of romance or adventure or just plain retarded-ness. Poems, one-shots, or a whole saga, this is where your story of Astra begins. Custom Crosshairs: this is th eplace to talk about your crosshairs, and to dig up some resources for yourself. Replays: post your best replays here! Like it says, if the staff likes what they see they'll post it on the main site. Off-topic: need a break from Gunz? Come here and discuss everything non-related, just about everything is allowed (except for posting hacks, excessive swearing, or nudity or pRon of any kind) ArcadeA place to discuss anything having to do with our arcade. High scores, placements, difficulties, all that stuff. Serious Discussion: Anything, to the Chernobly incident to the internal debate between science and religion. Acting like a goof in SD will most likely cause you being pelt with rocks and burning corpses. Graphics Workshop: Discussion about image editing, signatures, avatars, and any other non-gunz related image topics belongs here. This is the place to request new signatures and other personalized graphics. <---what this guy said >=D Tools of the trade Near the top of the screen (assuming you're logged in) you'll be presented with a bunch of pretty click-ables: UserCP, Register, FAQ, MembersList, Calendar, Arcade, Donate, NewPosts, Search, QuickLinks, and LogOut. >>UserCP (only visible if you're logged in) is where you go to edit your signature, location, profile, avatar, etc as well as to keep track of your private messages (PM). Very useful for all forums. >>In the profile section of your UserCP, you can change the E-mail, DateOfBirth. As well, you can add some info about yourself (where you live, your clan name if you have one) >>Register doesn't really need an explanation does it? >>FAQ is some form of search engine. Never really needed to use it. >> Members List shows every member; the day they registered, their number of posts, the last time they visited and their reputation (discussed later) >>the Calendar section, pretty much a Calendar =P Shows GzF member's birthdays and other special events >>Arcade, yay Video games!! =D >> Donate money to Gzf please! It's the blood of these forums (though technically, money is the root of all evil >_>). Doing so will give you...customizable usertitles, a huge PM box maximum, larger attachment limits, special usertitle mark-up, and a larger avatar file-size limit. Please support the Gunz community! >>The NewPost sections are....well, new posts 0_0 >>Aah, the Search engine. Probably the most useful but underused part of GzF. Chances are, if you've posted something that's been submitted 50 times people will scream at you to use "Search" >>Quick link is a quick link to things XD >>If you don't know what "LogOff" does, what are you doing in the forums? 0_0 Warning and Ban system Tada~! http://www.gunzfactor.com/forums/War...ViewMyWarnings Credits Me- for writing this guide Citizen- since he technically runs GzF >_> Boredom- for inspiring me to write this guide Laziness- for stopping me frmo making this guide any better |

Could you add a bit about reporting and forum etiquette? Reporting really helps reduce the amount of forced browsing mods have to do. Use it for flaming, spamming, threads that should be moved/locked/deleted, etc., and I will love you. ^_^Forum etiquette, I think Zeph had a post on that but I can't find it. Oh well. It's really just common sense. >_> Mozilla Forum Etiquette and http://www.fiso.co.uk/forum/philboard_et.html pretty much cover it, though some of it isn't applicable. | |
