| Banned | After becoming extremely bored with the old SG/Anything combo; I decided to try something else. That's when MG/RL came to mind. At first it was just for fun, but then learned it was pretty effective if used correctly. The past weekend I was at my friend's house. I had brought over my computer so we could play Gunz together. We played a lot of 2v2 games in town, him with SG/Revs and me with MG/RL. He would take the role of "tank" and basically just keep butterflying, trying to keep the 2 opponents busy while taking as little damage as possible, and throw in some SG and rev shots every now and then. This occured mainly at the point where the 2 teams usually converge in one spot. As seen on this map: Map borrowed from Entereri's town guide ![]() As he would "tank", both of our opponents would usually be very close together. So I would just spam MG and Rocket Launcher while they were busy with my friend. Most of the time, my friend would be dead by the time I got a few rocket shots in. But the opponents would be so low on hp from my onslaught of MG bullets and rockets, I would easily pick them off. But 2v2 isn't where this combo would shine, where this combo was it's best was actually in 4v4 TDMs or clan wars. In my last 4v4 clan war, I was 34-4, while my other team mates had around 4-6 kills with few deaths. All my team mates were on par with my skills, but it was only our weapon combo which was different. After seeing how effective it was, 2 of us would go MG/RL while the other 2 would go "tank" mode. Our strategy worked nearly every time. The only time it would fail, is if one of our tanks would die to quickly, or if the other team would split up and go solo. If that happened, we would just alter our strategy to counter our opponents. MG/RL may not seem to be a good combo on paper. But in game it can be very deadly if used correctly. |

| Banned | ^ No, sir. My team mate died from the other team. I was just saying that by the time I would get some shots in he would die. 2v1 is basically what my team mate was doing. I wasn't taking any damage. He was the tank, I was the one doing most of the damage. Last edited by „Onry; 07-18-2006 at 09:24 PM. |

![]() | Yes, yes. Without your team-mates tanking you'd be done for. Decent strategy if you know that your team won't die too fast. Personally, I would use a Rifle instead of an MG. Mainly because its easier to get more dmg with and the extra weight helps. ~~ It's pretty much like any other support combo. - MG - RL - Rev - Rifle - Pistol Mix and match your pleasure ~.~ |
