| Gunzfactorian Soldier | Alright this is a little mini-guide that really doesn't need to be listed unless I expand it into a full yoyo guide, but I am still deciding, anyways, this is just to help d-stylists out with a move called yoyohalf and yoyoquarter, coined by Slap who created (well found) the moves. In a quick comparison of K-style to D-style Key: the = sign should be read as "is the equivalent of" JSD = Slow, Easy to Hit Target Move That You Should Only Use When Begining D-Style YoYo = K-style's Slashshot, the dagger loses the slash but most k-stylers don't even hit with the slash in a slashshot. YoYoHalf = HalfStep, we cut back in our YoYo so we can imitate the k-styler's halfstep, we move a bit quicker and farther, and we incorporate a stab in yoyohalf, so its a very close and almost superior imitation YoYoQuarter = HalfHalfStep to Slap, but truly to me YoYoQuarter gives us an extra dash that k-style can't use in their glitches making this an ultimately superior move. Now, the main problem with yoyohalf and quarter is, you need to have very fast timing and quick finger movements to pull of the moves correctly. The biggest part in this is getting down the timing when you can first shoot, and then being able to reload to your dagger fast. Lastly, you work on dashing the opposite way. The best way to figure out the exact timing when you can first get the shot of is to simply practice it, everywhere you go in games practice shooting as early as possible and not waiting till the end of the YoYo. Then, as you play your games practice reloading your gun and switching to your dagger after every yoyo, this not only allows you more freedom as you land the yoyo, but you also can chain 2 yoyos together quicker ultimately leading in faster movement and more shots. Finally, and this will take training practice first, put it all together and add the dash at the end, DO NOT be troubled if the dash doesn't seem like it came fast enough, you will get faster with it the more you use it, so go into games and don't always yoyohalf but try to do it when the situation is appropriate, like if you just finished a regular yoyo and you were starting the next one back, yoyohalf the second yoyo so you aren't predictable. Eventually you will speed up to the point where you can work on.. ..YoYoQuarter, this is mainly just adding a stab on the yoyohalfs dash and dashing back the other way, this is to get you out of a pattern of yoyohalfs to keep you ultimately unpredictable and fast. To practice it just keep trying to add the stab dash onto your yoyohalfs until it becomes fast enough to be a true quarter. Speed is d-styles main advantage over k-style, you need to use it well and incorporate these moves to be able to compete with higher competition. Slap Also Has Made a Cameo Appearance and Added His Take on YoYoHalf/Quarter. Quote:

Ppq+ or Gt(geartap) forbidden step O= But indeed some moves in dstyle> speed/difficulty. And some as you just have some timing issues in the beginning. It's mostly practicing to get that particular timing down. Emjay. | |

yeah.. First off you are stationary for the first part of the move, and you can actually get 2 shots off a double halfstep, but still, the move is nowhere near the speed of yoyoquarter (yoyoquarter takes about 1 second to complete, this is 31/2-4 seconds). ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | YYQ ezpz. Also should mention Slap highly recommends using reload on right click for it(I don't ).@ Emjay yoyo can be geartapped too... and you land before the 3rd dash in ppq. Also... you can do a 2 shot variation with yoyo quarter... it follows the same concept and rs double yoyo and forbidden step... though it has it's advantages. Traum... you know i could write(LOL @ RIGHT) a better yoyo guide than you.. =P. Last edited by Noric; 08-28-2007 at 10:31 PM. |
