| Member | ================================================== ======== I know that I will be flamed for this my grammar & spelling are poor but I just wanna teach you guys how to an expert in using a sword. I borrowed some ideas from GFZ. My Sword Style Guide Contains -Advanced Butterfly -Advanced Double Butterfly -Advanced InstaFalls -FallDamage -Mad Slash -Lag Counter -Multi Turtle -Analyze/Mind Step -Massive Playing -Trick Style Explanations (Must Read, if not you will not understand what I am teaching) 1. What is lag? Lag have many types. Let me explain with the 1st type of lag. The 1st type of lag is based on the ping. If your opponent's ping is over 100+ that means he/she lag(including distance lag or spiking). The 2nd type of lag can be like this - when you charge a massive and then you strike, just after you strike you can't do anything for 1.5 seconds. That show you are laggy and you're unable to jump, slash, sash or block. The 3rd type of lag can be like this - if you had been flipped by your opponent while you are in the air, you only can slash or shoot (for sword it will not display the action, but your opponent will receive the damage.) 2.What is paralysis? I will give an example - when you slash your opponent, the opponent's character will display shake or blasted away for 10cm+ (in-game range). If you slash with fast speed your opponent will be unable to dash but able to block, jump and slash. (This is important on Chaining Combo) 3.What is stun? I will give an example of being stunned - you charge a massive and strike at your opponent. Your enemy will get stunned for 2sec. In the 1st second you are unable to move, dash, jump, slash, block and switch but in the second second your enemy is able to block. If your enemy gets stunned and glide to any direction, he is unable to do anything. Do not look down on the second second - it's enough for you to dash toward your enemy and do anything u like 4.What is cancelling? I will give an example - block acts as a cancel to the uppercut and slash animation. Because the block animation is much faster than the uppercut/slash animation, it allows you to chains another action such as jump, slash or dash. (This is important for DBF/Instafalls/Juggle) 5.What is Recoil? When your enemy trying to slash/massive you with near distance you block and he/she is unable to attack you and he/she will stunned for 1.3second. (This is important on Lag Counter) For me, I don't like to BF/DBF Forwards because it will makes you Recoil. I would prefer the direction of left or right. Butterfly 1. Spam side butterfly when enemy are blocking (he doesn't move) this will earn 2+ hits. (Jump>Dash>Slash>Block, with Left and Right direction) 2. When the enemy do not stop BF-ing, you should do Side BF, the point is "SPEED". I will give an example - when u do Side/Circle BF your enemy are also doing Side/Circle BF. The key is to move faster than him so that you can earn 2++ slash. (Jump>Dash>Slash>Block, move faster than your enemy) Unblockable Butterfly (UBF) 1. Unblockable Butterfly can make your opponent unable to block your slashes and he/she will paralyze. Now I teach you how to do. The point is *DISTANCE*. You cannot BF your enemy with Close Distance it will cause you Recoil, thus you should keep a distance for BF-ing. Normally when you do UBF, the 1st hit to your opponent (Blocking), he/she will get a massive that shows you that he/she is unable to block (unless he/she's multi-turtle) so you should spam UBF as fast as you can as it will make your opponent paralyze but be careful as the massive people normally will do is a 180Massive to break your UBF base. From my experience you should do CircleUBF so that he would only have a slim chance of breaking your UBF. While he was throwing the massive you should do Lag Counter on your enemy (I will explain later). Look down. That is the distance of 1.2M in game range, if you still don't understand please contact me. (Jump>Dash>Slash>Block,with 1.2M game distance) (----------------------------------------) Double Butterfly 1. Double Butterfly is a good skill to make your opponent receive deadly damage and paralysis. The point of DBF is *Movement*. You should not DBF forward your enemy when he is blocking as it will cause you Recoil. Instead, you should do Side DBF or Static DBF - for me I like to Combine BF with DBF so it can SPEED up the Movement and earn more slashes and normally people like to do DBF while instafalling. It is good and you also can try doing DBF when juggling and 1 more thing, don't just standing in a place spamming DBF - it is a DUMB act ever 'cause people can COUNTER you easily (with slashing or Massive)and you can combine DBF and Mad Slashing too. (Jump>Slash>Block>Slash>Block) or (Jump>Slash>Block>Dash>Slash>Block) Static Double Butterfly (Effective to laggers) I shall introduce a DBF style call Static DBF as it is a good skill to earn hits. How to SDBF? You can just spam DBF without dashing. 1. You do NOT go forward because if you move forward you will get Recoiled/Flipped. I prefer the Direction of A or D because when you are doing this it will attract your opponent to come toward you and you can earn hits. 2. By doing SDBF your opponent will receive Massive and he/she will dash towards you to strike it. | Member | Basic Knowledge 1. When your opponent is Side BF-ing refrain from moving towards him because you will be hit. You may move to that direction he moved, and when he/she's within slashing range try Jump>Slash>Block>BF backwards if he/she receives the massive. He/she may strike it so you may prepare for the Lag Counter. 2. No-Recoil Slash- When you are going to slash your opponent double-slash (Slash>Slash>Block). You may look down and slash this will allow you not to receive any recoil. 3. When your opponent Massive Strike on you (Hit) and your opponent flips you and he/she is going to DBF/Double/Triple slash onto you in this situation you may do Void Block(i used this every time) When your opponent juggles you while you in the air you can hold block and click slash while looking at your opponent. When you do this it will stop your opponent from chaining the juggle. 5. When your opponent InstaFall you, you should try mashing the jump and block then slash. When you do this you will safefall unless your opponent do a No Safe-Fall Instafall. InstaFall 1.Normaly peoples instafall only can do 2~3 slashing but now i teach you how to do 8Slash++ ,the point is *Tricking* you can't do InstaFall by not Tricks enemys because you have no enough time and no suitable situation to Instafall normaly peoples using Massive for trapping it is the most good way for instafall Yea i agree, that unless your enemy is a DUMB siting at a place(Block/Not Block and Not Move) so you no need trick also can just direct instafall him okay now i teach u guys how to do HighAngle instafalls 1st u massive your enemy and uppercut him start DBF ok now is the MOST IMPORTANT part when you are gonna start DBF you must look at your enemy while he/she's going to rise to the sky or face up quickly until the bottom of camera reaches the shoulders of your character and start DBF this will able your enemy to slow down and stay on the air for longer periods(Flip Block>*Jump>Slash>Block>Slash>Block* repeat until the enemy are fall down This is the instafall that i always used 2.Advance Combo ================================================== ======== DBFGrinder it's a common combo that can makes you keeping close to your enemy.(This is useful if your enemy not SF you can earn 6hits +) A)DBFGrinder(Flip>Block>Jump>Slash>Block>Slash>Blo ck>HoldingForward>repeat Static DBF while taping forward to keeping close to your enemy) B)CrazySlash(Flip>Block>Jump>Slash>Block>Slash>Blo ck>Slash>Slash>Slash>Block>Slash>Slash>Slash>Block >.... til your enemy death) Chains of FallDamage 1.While you had done Instafalls your enemy will fall down so u do FallDamage on him.How to do fall damage?it's easy while your enemy fall down you quickly go infront of his/her leg and look down on his/her leg start DBF even he's fall down but he will receive the damage ,while your enemy going to get up dash behine/beside your enemy BackStab or instafalls again. ================================================== ======== Mad Slashing 1.Mad slashing can makes your enemy fall into paleryze situation when you're going to slash your enemy you must Look on your enemys leg and Slash this will make you WONT get any Recoil There is few way to Mad Slashing lets look down. A)Single Slash --Delay=1/4 (Jump>Dash>Slash>Block>Slash>Block B)Double Slashing--Delay=2/4 (Jump>Dash>Slash>Block>Slash>Slash>Block) C)Sword Dance--Delay=4/4 (Jump>Slash>Block>Dash>Slash>Block>Slash>Slash>Blo ck for personal i dont like to Triple Slash atlast(Slash>Slash>Slash>Block) because it's the suitable time for your enemys Strike the Massive on you and you are not enough time to Dodge(unless you know how to block his/she Massive.) Chain of Lag Counter By doing Mad Slashing your enemy will get Massive easyly and they will going to Stun you with Near Distance so you prepair for the Lag Counter ^_^. ================================================== ======== 1. Lag Counter - What is Lag Counter? Here's an example: When your opponents are trying to massive you but DOESN'T hit you (Miss) just after the Strike he/she will get lagged for 1.5 Second. You should use this chance to earn some hits. I prefer to do Triple/Double Slash or InstaFall/Juggle. This is a good chance to kill a person. Based from my experience when I Lag Counter a person with Triple Slash, he/she will normally block it and then he/she will receive the massive and strike it immediately. You must Dodge/Block it, and if you had already Dodge/Block you can Lag Counter again. You can try to InstaFall/Juggle if you fast enough. Why did I say that right after the Massive Strike you will be lagged for 1.5 seconds? You can try it yourself. First, charge a massive and Strike it just after you Strike it by clicking Mouse button 1(Slash) immediately. It can't do anything for 1.5 seconds because you are lagged. Normally, people won't care about it because it is just 1.5 seconds. I can tell you that it's a chance to earn hits. How To Lag Counter?there is few way to Lag Counter lets look down. 1.1st Holding Block Button and move toward your enemy once he/she's in your hiting area you may do Single Slash(Slash>Block) while he/she receive the Massive if your enemy are Dumb your enemy will direct srike the Massive on you ,so be smart when you Single Slash once you may BF to Back/Side direction and wait he/she to trow the massive and dash toward him and earn hits. 2.When you Bf/Dbf sometime they also will receive massive so wait he/she trow the massive and Lag Counter.(use distance bf if not you will easyly recoil) 3.Or you can try Spam Mad Slashing until he/she get the massive wait him strike the massive and dash toward him do Lag Counter. Void Block What is Void Block? Void Block is an advanced blocking style. How to Void Block? It's easy you just need to timing to spam the block I give an example: My block button is E and then I mash it continuously (E>E>E>E>E>E>E>E>E>.....) If you just only normal spam the block you only can block 2/4~3/4 of normal slashing. If you are lucky you can block all of normal slashing. How to time? I want to explain Void Block is NOT just mash the keyboard as fast as you can - you must time to mash it properly. If you time and mash the block, it’s getting faster (the speed will increase until maximum) and it will faster than normal mashing. You can block slashes easily even with 100 DBF. Analyze Playing/Mind Step Before you seriously fight with your opponent, you can take the 1st round to Fake Fight and you should use the Fake Fight to analyze your opponent. 1.Analyze Block- When you are going to Massive Strike to your opponent, you should look at your opponent if he/she is skyblocking so you may do skybreaker after this. 2.Analyze Ping- If your opponent has 100+ ping it is not suitable to turtle because you are in a RISK. I would prefer to spam BF/DBF as fast as you can and Leading Slash. 3.Analyze Skills- To escape MadSlashing situation you should do VoidBlock. If your opponent likes to BF forward and you can try Holding Block button and move toward him(make him recoiled) 4. Massive- If your opponent is a 180 massiver you should do Sky Block or dodge the block. You also can use your own way to analyze if you have no idea you can use those 4 samples of analyzation. Delay Massive 1.Delay Massive Strike-how to Delay Massive Strike?when you get a massive dont trow it immedietly wait for a while and then Jump>Dash>Jump>ChangeDirectionTo180>Strike 1st you need to look at the distance of your enemy to you if he/she's is kinda far disance to you you may add 1 more Jump>Dash. 2.Once you receive massive dont strike it immedietly you must look at the situation if your Enemy are near distance with you so you may Strike 180 Massive if Far Distance with you you may keep the massive and dont strike it because expert player know how to Lag Counter. Trick Style Trick Style is suitable for turtlers and if you are turtler READ THIS SECTION! Trick Style - how to use it? It can make your opponent easily get STUNNED or FLIPPED. Here are some examples to trick your opponent. 1. If your opponent is blocking and moving towards you, you also block and move towards him. Once he is within slashing range you can flip him and do anything you want. (I prefer sacrificing 1 hit to earn 4hits+.) 2. You can do it like this: While blocking and when your opponent is within slashing range you can Slash>Block. This will make your opponent receive a massive. If he/she strikes the massive you should dash away/block and do Lag Counter on him/her (this is a part of tricking). 3. When you receive a massive don’t throw it immediately you may do Delay Massive Strike and your opponent will be surprised when you did this 4. Map Tricking- Before you read this, I would like to tell you that only cowards do this but it works sometimes. 1. Battle Arena- Attract your opponent to go to the stairs that inside the hole (red/blue team base). If he/she follows you to the stairs you don’t run anymore and directly face at him and Flip>Block and then quickly click left mouse button (slash) and if he/she fall do Fall Damage. i hope that helped ![]() Last edited by AngelWillCry; 08-26-2007 at 09:24 PM. |

| Gunzfactorian Guardian | Same For people who wanna win a BF fight from a 200 pinger whose BF is crazy fux pro. BF at the spot where he is going and you're 100% safe and he keeps running into you and takes damage hopefully. If he takes a massive and uses it don't go at him, by the time you hit him on your screen he's already gone on his screen and then you're not 100% safe. What you should do when he takes a massive and uses it BF at the spot where he'll probably go at. Zzzz. That's what I do and it works for me. Edit: What's with the complicated techniques these days.. | Gunzfactorian Soldier | The word "unblockable" is always funny to me. Please note that there is no unblockable move or inescapable atk. Everything has its counter. "Multi-Turtle" I guess thats one way of putting it. This usually goes by the name of Void Block. And I really need to correct you when you say"mashing block button" Void block actually requires timing and skill. And maybe it will block 80% of the atks if you MASH it, not if you actually know how. Which is why I can usually block 100% of any typical attack. Last edited by Deviok; 08-14-2007 at 09:29 AM. |

I m going to introduce a new DBF style called static DBF. It is a good style to trick your enemy. It is as simple as doing DBF by just tapping W,A,S,D (do not dash). The 1st note on this is that you DO NOT tap forward cause you will easily get Recoil/Flipped and Countered by your opponent. I prefer tapping left and right because it will attract your enemy to come toward to you so you can earn more slashes onto your enemy. Why not backward because when you go backward you will hard to earn slashes and people will scold you OMGWTF RUNNER. During Static DBF your opponents will easily get a Massive. When your opponents get a massive and he/she will be trying to move forward towards you and wait for him come forward with 2~3M (in-game range) and then you Dash away with the direction of Left or Right. Why not backwards? It is because when he move faster than you, you will easily receive his/her massive! (Jump>Slash>Block>Slash>Block,with tapping W,A,S,D (do not dash ))=============================== Too hard to edit :P |
