1x, 2x, 3x?

When people are saying their char levels.. Why do they use X for the second number?

Like one of my chars on IGunZ, shredy is a 2X (22)

I think they mean, somewhere in the level 10's, 20's, 30's, etc.

Oh so if they put it in their siggy and it changes so they dont have to update?

eh, if you put that down most people, especially the RPGers will understand if it's in context ("My character is level 2X" as opposed to "I have a 2X")

If you level quickly, and don't feel like changeing the number often, you put an X. The person gets the idea you're in the 20's, which you're obviously trying to convey by putting 2x.

I have a lvl 1000x character.

meanings:
lv1x = lv between 10 - 19
lv2x = lv between 20 - 29
lv3x = lv between 30 - 39
lv1000x = lv between 10000 - 10009
