What does 'Lead Shot' mean?


Is that just a well placed SS opening shot? People use the term and I cannot fathom what it means.

To lead means, to shoot ahead to compensate for ones lag.

When you hold down tab, a screen shows up showing players and their "ping" which is basically how many milliseconds are between you and that person. Since 1000 milliseconds are 1 second, a ping of 1000 means that a movement you do now, they will see 1 second later.

But don't be fooled. Just because 1 is a small number.....doesn't mean you will have an easy job. With the fast pace of gunz, 1 second can mean the difference between directly in front of you...and 90 degrees to the right, or directly behind you.

You have to shoot about one full body length in the direction they are moving for every 100 ping they have. This is lead shot.

Also, don't misunderstand the people. It doesn't have to be only lag. Remember that human beings have a reaction time. That reaction time may be around a little more than 100 ms. If you aim a tiny bit ahead, you can also lead to compensate for your slightly delayed shot. That's why playing against people with around 100 ping is good. If you get used to leading against them, your accuracy in general will increase as well when you're against normal ping people(10-60 if you have a fast connection)

I've noticed with BeyondPower, when he would get HIT on me (we have 20-30 ping to each other), sometimes it didn't actually HIT me. 30 Ping still doesn't need to have lead aiming, leading mostly comes at 70-80 ping.

That's true. 50 ping is pretty much the point where you need to start leading. But personally, I don't shoot right away. I tend to delay things a tiny bit. In a case like that or if the other person is moving uncontrollably fast, you would need to lead/predict a little too.

I heard, what is it, 100 ping=1second ahead, 200=2 seconds. Is this true exactly? Just a question...

Almost right. 100 = .1 second since 1 second = 1000 ms. The unit rules apply here. milli = .001 <base> However, aiming 1 second ahead would be right. And aiming around 2 seconds ahead with 200 ping wouldn't be incorrect either. But comparing time with distance is usually hard in-game.

I got problems aiming on BP when he does 5 flash steps in some seconds right in front of me... even 10 ping or 1000 ping wouldnt make a diff to where I shoot at <_<

I thought Lead Shot was where on Kgunz they can buy this premium upgrade to their guns, much like elements are to the swords, where it makes all the bullets shot from their guns made of heavy lead instead of cheap aluminum. So it does double damage, ignores AP, and can poison when inflicted by a head shot. WTf?

lmfao. well, close enough. lol. i usually dont lead shot, a shotty spam gives enough spread to battle 100 pingers without a lot of leadshooting

You should ask Tsuteto or refer to his guide. He's pretty damn good with his leading shots.
