![]() | Ok, I really really really really suck with revolvers. If I carry dual revolvers, I might as well just have a sword. Why? I cannot aim worth crap. I always practice my aim in Town, but I still stand at crappy aim. Can anyone help me? |

![]() | 1. logitech mx500 or newer 2. play more 3. play more - practicing aiming on other fps games might help as well - try to predict where other people will move, move your crosshairs there before they get there and the whole crosshair turning red should help you alot, unless you have unnaturally slow reactions |

| Gunzfactorian Hero | 1. It is easier to aim with lower sensitivity. High quality mice have VERY high sensitivity, so you can either buy a medium quality mouse and set the sensitivity kinda low or medium or buy a high quality mouse and set the sensitivity to really low.....i would reccomend the medium quality mouse to save some money (I SEROIUSLY DOUBT you will ever use the max sensitivity on those high quality mice). 2. Practice aiming at small objects, such as the lampposts in town. Do it while walking, tumbling, turning, dashing, half stepping, and whatever other movement you can think of. Do it for like 5 minutes after you log in. 3. Use a crosshair that looks different when you set it on the enemy. This way, you know you are pointing at them and know when to shoot. All the default crosshairs have this feature except for #1. 4. Keep practicing with revolvers and switch to shotgun and you will have amazing aim. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Aim is just hand-eye coordination and reaction speed. Practice may improve those, but the easiest short-term fix is to somehow allow yourself more time to line up your sights. That's why a lot of revovler users will be e-styling and just "spraying" with them instead of k-styling: so they can have much more time to aim. There's a couple of tricks to that can help you with dual dual revovlers - espeically for k-styling: http://www.gunzfactor.com/forums/sho...79&postcount=4 (You can tell, I use dual dual revovlers a lot XD.) Or you can use my Aim Improvement Crosshair! *blatant self-advertising XD* Aim Improvement - GUARANTEED EDIT: NSman's second suggestion is very useful. I do the lamp-post thing all the time. The lamps on the stairs in Mansion are also good targets :P. I would also add that you should use a crosshair that shows recoil, like the default (crosshair 1), as revovlers are highly sensitive to recoil. Last edited by Anthop; 02-26-2006 at 08:04 PM. |

1.) Stable people = accurate crosshair 2.) Once you get use to it, you can rely on your slow reaction time(human beings can not pass around 100 ms. So you can take advantage of that. Simply bring the crosshair onto the other person so it "picks" on. Then slide it a about 2 heads in front of the person. By relying on your reaction time, your shot will be somewhat dead on. Note that 2 heads is my current setting for 50 ms ping. For 100, I usually lead a good 4 heads. | |

![]() | Use crosshair #3 or #4, those crosshairs have an opening in the middle so you can figure out which way your opponents going to move next. #1,#2, and #5 all have something in the middle therefore making it difficult to see which direction your opponent is facing. These are just my tips on becoming a better aimer. ![]() |

| Gunzfactorian Soldier | Revolvers: First thing to do is: check opponents pings, so you can somewhat predict where they really are. Usage: Long range - Take your time and aim in peace, if you can lead your shots it´ll be easy to snipe down your opponents, if you can trick them to move straight towards you or retreat in straight line it´ll be really easy to take them down, if they dash around just aim at the end of dash and try timing your shots. Mid range - Mostly same as long range, but you should be way more cautious, since enemy can probably get close to you quite fast and you should move more to avoid getting rushed. Short range - This is where movement is the key, if you can find balance between dodging and landing accurate shots you should do just fine. Higher sensitivity can help to keep track of enemy if he keeps moving fast around. To practise aiming, you should play other FPS games, expecially ones where few shots can kill, that´ll force you to become more accurate, also you can practise within gunz, as others already said. Final note: To get better accuracy with revs, keep a small pause between shots or switch weapon to minimize recoil. Hopefully this helps. |

| Member | Since there's a lot of things that have been written about this subject, I'll just offer what works for me and you can disregard parts or ALL of it (which is what you're most likely to do :P)... Well, the first thing to do is check your sensitivity. Not too high, not too low, blah blah blah...okay, when I move around, depending on how far I have to move my mouse, I either move my wrist for smaller adjustments, or use my arm for bigger adjustments. It might be a good idea to get used to doing this if you decide to use a lower sensitivity. This way, you'll be able to make those detailed shots with a small wrist movement, while still being able to turn 180 degrees with your arm. Remember that part of aiming well with revolvers (or single-shot hitscan weps, for that matter) is reflexes and hand-eye coordination. Generally, you move your cursor bob toward the target, and right when the target is under your crosshair, you fire (this is under ideal, low-ping situations of course). However, if you need to develop your reflexes, then you can try this: DON'T MOVE your mouse at all. Just point your cursor in the general direction of the enemy, in a position where your target will most likely pass, and just strafe/HS left and right. Once your target passes through your crosshairs, fire. Think of this as a tripwire; your target has just stepped on a piece of string, and you are the one who sends an arrow at the hapless victim. Once you are comfortable with this technique, and your reflexes are developed enough, you can try moving the mouse and aiming normally. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Take advantage of the user's weaknesses. Some people are obviously out of ammo... If they butterfly, go for them. Butterflyers make excellent shooting targets. >.> See another revolver user? Try dueling him... It'll force you to be just as good or better... (I went in a server with three revolver users... Let's just say that they died — A LOT. [I always had time to delay my battle and mess up theirs. One of them did the same...]) Like other posters have stated, leading is important. If someone with 100+ ping is rolling left and right non-stop, pop a few shots left and right within that area. Lag will probably make one hit. |
