That's why a lot of online communities, especially ones that attract the kids who have found other things they think are more fun than being social, are usually full of such assholes. They know there are no physical consequences to being a complete dick.
That's why I usually tend to play games that more casual gamers play, or older ones. They usually don't take gaming so seriously or are just matured enough to not find ruining other people's day fun.
