So, pot-shots are basically hit-and-run shots, where you strafe out, shoot, strafe back into the wall swiftly...

That's a pretty good tactic in some situations. If you want pot shots to be effective, the gun better be a semi-automatic type of gun (revolvers are the best for this) and YOU need to be incredibly fast as well as have excellent aim and a bit of control. I don't think a MRB is needed at all, it's ultimately still the person' own skill. If he uses MRB, it's only a matter of his personal preference.

Just watch out for rocket-users who aim the corner of the wall and grenades =P
