Yes, time travel exists forward, backwards too but only if you go out to the edge of the universe. That's all perception though, the reality of the matter is you can't really go into the future or past, because if you are removed from your current time frame to backwards you could disrupt the time stream and cause the time machine to never be invented or something of that matter and essentially you would cease to exist.

As far as the future, well we are always doing that, it's just slow. We could speed it up I suppose but we may as well be changing the time stream for a our future. Think about it, if a bunch of people go to the future and bring back technology, it may cause some war. Maybe we are advanced enough in the future to be at peace and have to reason for weapons other than hunting or something like that, or defending against other species.
