=====================================
1. Intro
-------
Why hello thar! Welcome to my Kodachi guide! In this guide, I am not going to teach you how to do sword moves like every other guide out there. Everyone's mindset is that Kodachis are inferior to swords. In this guide, I am going to explain and try to convince you why they are not. Considering my focus of topic for this guide is very specific, the guide will not be too long, however I will get to the main points. I will also be posting replays, so you guys can all see what I have made. Almost all of the moves I will be posting I thought up myself, so If they appeared earlier, and are known then I appologize(but I doubt they will be). I will also be touching on the unknown facts about kodachis. Sit back, relax, and enjoy! PS. If something has a star(*) on it, it means it is essential
.
2. Why Kodachis?
-----------------
Why kodachis you say? Well there are tons of reasons. One being that they are extremely origional. Very, very few people actually use kodachis are their primary melee weapon. Also, the kodachi animations are MUCH more cool in my opinion(for instance the way a girl character blocks). Kodachis have a distinct advantage over katana in the fact that they can move to uppercut. I will explain this later in the guide.
3. Kodachis over sword? no wai!
-------------------------------
Yes wai!
Pros:
-cool animations
-new moves
-the fact that it still functions like a sword(unlike dagger)
-origionality
-low delay**
-ability to move after uppercut**
Cons:
-Weight(which keeps many away from kodachi)
-Some say low dmg, but I think it's enough
4. I'm still not convinced. There has to be more to it!
--------------------------------------------------
Guess what? There is! Here comes the highlight of my guide. The moves section. I cannot stress the importance of low delay and ability to move while uppercutting enough to kodachi users. You'll see why in my replays, and explanation of moves.
I. Spike step- I'm not sure what this is called, so If I am wrong please do not criticize. I'm sure all of you have seen this done with sword, but WTF Kodachis?! If you pull this off on someone with kodachis, they will call you a god simply because I have never seen anyone do this in my life with kodachis. The only problem is, it is a little bit harder to pull off with kodachis. I do not take credit for this.
Uppercut > Block > Jump > Slash
II. Juggle- Again, I am sure you have all seen this done on sword, but rarely with kodachis. Takes some practice at first. I do not take credit for this.
Uppercut > Block(to prevent sliding) > repeat
III. Intercept- This is where the ability to move while uppercutting is essential for kodachi to perform correctly. This move is extremely cool, because if they have a strong offense and/or defense from a bf, you can turn it into an offense, and even an instant kill if you are skilled!
While the opponent is bfing > Uppercut > Block > shoot in the air, or juggle
IV. Kodachi glitch- The kodachis delay is so low, that if you attack once, and hold the button until you start charging a massive, you can repeat that. This allows you to attack SUPER fast. If you pull this off on someone they will respond with this; "ZOMGZOMG !32515125 HAXORZ NUB~!! KCIK!" I appologize because I saw this stated in a few earlier posts, however this is a main move for kodachi, and this guide wouldn't be a guide without it! I do not take credit for this.
Attack and hold > repeat
V. KIS Step- This one was invented by me and a girl named Beatrix. We both worked on it. Basically, It uses the above Kodachi glitch to sort of stall them and disorient them once they land after a uppercut. VERY useful. If done right, you can get anywhere from 5-6 hits on them and they will be wondering what the **** just happened to them.
Uppercut > Block > Dash to their side / back > Kodachi Glitch
VI. Instant kill sword- Hehe. This is a fun one to pull off. To pull this off, you have to master Juggle AND kodachi glitch. First, uppercut your opponent into a wall / corner(on the replay I did it in a corner but you can do it off a wall too). Once they are in the area and are descending, Kodachi glitch exactly 3 times or until they get a massive(you have to look down to get a foot shot*). Skyblock the massive, and Repeat! It is tricky to pull off, and if they don't massive it won't work right, but 9 / 10 times if you are close they will massive.
Uppercut into area(corner / wall) > on their fall, kodachi glitch 3* times(feet shot) > skyblock their massive > Repeat
VII. Instant kill gun- Well, this is exactly like the instant kill sword, except easier to pull off. I would use this one if you have ammo, and if not.. Use the sword one. Basically, uppercut until they are in an area, then Kodachi glitch ONLY 2 times(feet shot), and then do a backwards SS and spam your gunz. This is suprisingly effective!
Uppercut into area > on their fall, kodachi glitch 2 times(feet shot) > Backward SS > Shoot the hell out of them.
VIII. GlennLee - Throw a grenade in front of you, dash and flip towards it to fly FRIGGING high. It may help to kill people at high places. But of course, the catch is doing DMG to yourself. I do not take credit for this.
Throw nade > Dash > Flip > Slash/Shoot
IX. Massive Spam- Another move I figured out. Charge a Massive, and then Kodachi Glitch. It is rarely seen so it is actually rather effective on an unsuspecting victim!
Charge Massive(Or get one from a block) > hit with massive > Kodachi glitch
X. Double Butterfly- Here's a move that a lot of you know how to do with sword, however didn't know it could be done with kodachis. I do not take credit for this.
Jump > Slash > Block > Dash > Slash > Block > repeat
5. Using the Kodachi
-------------------
New Section, yey! I suppose I will get straight to the point. Using kodachis is much like using katana, except it uses the ability to move while uppercutting to the user's advantage. If you want to be a Kodachi Adept, you MUST MUST MUST MUST master the uppercut. When I say Master, I mean acknowledging the angle that it will work at, your speed at which it triggers, leading, when to block to cancel the uppercut, and just getting a feel for it considering it is extremely different from the katana's uppercut. Kodachi works just like sword except you may want to try to get in closer in order to get an intercept. Once the intercept is achieved, you have many different options. You can juggle them, and wait for a teamate to shoot them in the air, shoot them in the air, KIS step, insta-kill, or "NSF juggle". "NSF juggle" was not explained in this guide, so you may want to refer to another K-style guide for that. It all depends on the situation (ammo, life, etc...), and the area in which the intercept takes place. Otherwise, Just use the kodachi as a sword. If there are any more specific situations that you would like to ask me about.. Just post and I will be glad to answer. Good luck!
6. Clearing up some things
------------------------
Here, I would like to address some unknown facts about kodachis.. just so you all don't have to expirament. This section is because I know a lot of you have not expiramented and have infact been wondering. So, let me start:
- Kodachis CAN skyblock
- Kodachis CAN skybreak
- Kodachis CAN spike step, HOWEVER it is harder to pull off
- Kodachis CAN juggle
- Kodachis DO have instant kills specified to kodachi
- Kodachis DO NOT perform as swords. The moves are the same (minus the ones shown in this guide) however when using kodachis.. the playing style is MUCH different
7. Conclusion
------------
Well, That's my guide! I hope you learned something from it. Most of the moves in it, I thought up my self with some minor help(see Special Thanks). May I please add that this thread is NOT NOT NOT for kodachi flaming. I DO NOT want to hear "pfft kodachi noob, sword pwnz it." I would like you all to keep and open mind while approaching this guide, and I hope you all realize that Kodachi is NOT inferior to Sword. Thanks!
Edit: If anyone has anything they would like to add to this guide, or anything that they think does not belong.. then speak up! Thanks

Interesting, I'll definitely have to give kodachis a more serious try now. I'll check out the replays later today![]()
yay! so u caleld it KIS step =DDDDDDD. Yea its a good Guide Soggy >.>
GJ! I was wondering how to do kodachi glitch lolz. TY 9/10 (Only cuz I don't use kodachi's much)
This is VERY hard to do... I saw my fren did it, I tried, could do it but much slower... It's like stabbing with dagger but this time with a kodachi.Originally Posted by Kazuki0090
And this is another fun one you may wanna add...
Throw a grenade in front of you, dash and flip towards it to fly FRIGGING high. It may help to kill people at high places. But of course, the catch is doing DMG to yourself.
Throw nade > Dash > Flip > Slash/Shoot

7/10. Fine job.
I respect the fact that you gave me a 7, but can you plz tell me why I missed 3 points so I can correct my mistake(s)..?Originally Posted by RED
Excellent guide. I was excited when I first got kodachis but disappointed on their use. But this guide may change that fact. Anyways... when the honor system is back up, remind me to honor you.
At least there is another way to use a Kodachi other than K-Style now ^^
Well, you use what I created WITH kstyle, so you have more options.. making kodachis of greater or equal value than swords. I just want to see more kodachi users xDOriginally Posted by Sonblade
The problem is that i don't like the way boy characters do butterfly with kodachi >_<
